esta es una banda originaria de Los Angeles California, epro extrañamente mas reconocida en Alemania (todo el Pais) y parte de Europa central que en su ciudad natal.. excelnete banda pronto subire el primer disco de ellso que es homonimamente titulado "Mother Tongue" que es concreto es uno de mis 10 discos favoritos de mi coleccion, creo que como es costumbre (hay excepciones) los primero trabajos son los buenos ya despues no son tan buenos..

era de alla por 1994 cuando escuche por primera vez este disco y desde ese entonces se conviertio en mis disco favorito de The Doors me gusto mucho la variaciones de ritmos que tienen las canciones y en especial el ultimo track llamado "the soft parade" un vuiaje completo pasando por ritmos clasicos de the doors, y llevando ritmos alegres y casi campiranos... realmente esa cancion como lo dice en su letra es el "el mejor viajes que me gusta.. la mejor parte del viaje

Jon Theodore fue el batería original del grupo The Mars Volta hasta el disco Amputechture, mientras que Zack de la Rocha es el vocalista de Rage Against the Machine. One Day as a Lion destaca por las melodías con la firma de Zack de la Rocha, las cuales, fiel a su estilo, hacen hincapié en la política y en los temas activistas como forma de protesta social. Pero su estilo es ligeramente diferente al de Rage Against the Machine, en One Day as a Lion las canciones son más melódicas y la voz no es tan rapera como en sus otros trabajos con RATM.

El 16 de Julio de 2008, fue publicada la canción "Wild International" en el mySpace oficial de la banda.

El EP debut y homónimo de la banda salió a la venta el 18 de Julio de 2008 en Australia, y cuatro días después en EEUU.
